INCA inaugurated their new facilities located in the Km.22 of the Autopista Duarte where they will produce wire rod and electrically welded meshes, and will allow INCA to remain as leader of the local market and among the top ten companies of this kind in Latin America.

The event, which began immediately after the arrival of its guest of honor, the President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernández Reina, who was in charge of cutting the inaugural ribbon, put into operation what the executives called the advancement of the local industry directed towards global comptetivity.

Mr.Francisco García, president of Industrias Nacionales adressed the main speech where he pointed out the importance of the inauguration of this production unit which will supply the needs of the construction sector at local levels and at regional levels. He stressed out that this will allow the company to maintain its leadership in the country and to strengthen the condition of being one of the top ten companies on the Latin American market.

“The market’s demand and the genuine interest of Industrias Nacionales  to satisfy our clients’ needs, lead us to launch into operation this new wire rod and electrically welded mesh plant…It is a dream that we had been cherishing for a long time and that today we can make it a reality. With this contribution we seek to reassure and increase the generation of hundreds of jobs that our society is currently requiring,” said Mr. García.

Mr. José Velazco, Commercial Director of  INCA, who was in charge of the opening for the inaugural event, pointed out the company’s commitment to the environment, their strict attachment international norms, their social responsability policy, and their values, which have been the foundation of their development throughout these years. He emphasized that INCA is a worthy example of how you can perfectly balance industrial production and natural resources.

“As it corresponds to a modern industry, this factory functions with adequate mechanisms that protect the environment and contribute to the preservation of valluable natural resources, such as water.It is an example of how to balance industrial production and the preservation of the environment.Today, ecologially responsable production is a requirement all over the world, both of national governments and of the population,” said Mr. Velazco.

The blessing of the building was led by the priest Víctor Masalles of the parish Saint Joseph of Calazan, who when addresing the people present made vows to the Most High so that conditions keep arousing in our country that allow an increase in decent job offers for the Dominicans. He emphasized that the contribution and investment of Industrias Nacionales give not only economical development, but also social peace.

After the speeches in agenda, the guests were given a tour through the new facilities, receiving explanations about the operation of the plant and of its production capacity. At the wire rod plant, the President of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fernandez R., together with the executives of the company unveiled a placard to commemorate the occasion. To the event attended national and international senior officials of the company, as well as entrepreneurs, media executives, special guests, and the government officials that accompanied the president Leonel Fernández.

INCA is a long steel laminator, mainly of steel bars for reinforced concrete. They also manufacture steel meshes, galvanized wire, galvanized barb wire, nails and staples, PVC pipes and connections, among others. They also import flat laminated products fot the production of tiles, pipes with seams, and shaped profiles, and distribute plates. They sell approximately 400 thousand tons of steel products each year.

INCA’s first facilities were inaugurated in 1947, and this is where now the plant for electrically welded mesh is installed. Here, they will elaborate new products in quantities that will satisty the international demands. From 4 rolls per hour, the plant will pass to producing 14 rolls per hour, with an installed capacity of 1,700 tons each month, and offering in this way a wide area of wire and plate products in different diameters and presentations to the market. This is all a result of our own investigation and of strategic alliances with the most advanced norms at a worlwide-level.
